Es folgte eine dreistündige Notoperation, in welcher auch die Milz entfernt werden musste. Die darauffolgenden Tage und Nächte verbrachten wir neben Arturo, bei den Infusionen, zwischen Röntgen und Ultraschall blieben wir an seiner Seite.<br /><br />Aber eine Besserung stellte sich nur langsam und zögerlich ein, gefolgt von toxischen Krisen, gekennzeichnet von Kreislaufversagen mit Herzrhythmusstörrungen bis hin zum Herzflimmern.<br /><br />Am 16. postoperativen Tag kam es wieder zu einem Verfall meines Greyhounds, es entwickelte sich eine akute Peritonitis mit starker Magendilatation. Aber wieder konnten wir medikamentös gegensteuern, eine weitere Notoperation stand einige Stunden im Raum, wurde aber glücklicher weise nicht notwendig.<br /><br />Der völlig abgemagerte Greyhound bewältigte auch das, nun musste er vorsichtig aufgefüttert werden. Nur wenige Schlucke Brei oder Wasser waren die erste Kost, zehn bis zwölf Mahlzeiten täglich unterstützt mit medikamentöser Therapie brachten erste Erfolge. Langsam und vorsichtig kehrten Arturo´s Lebensgeister zurück.<br /><br />Jetzt sechs Wochen später wage ich mich zu sagen:<br /><br />ARTURO HAT ÜBERLEBT.<br /><br />Es waren viele Augenblicke des Bangens, die Frage ob die Entscheidung der Therapie die richtige war.<br /><br />All jene, welche dies schon einmal erlebt haben, werden nachvollziehen können, wie schwer die Zeit war.
